Hotel Ambassador in Curitiba

Hotel Ambassador in CuritibaSituated in Curitiba's city center, the Hotel Ambassador offers apartment-style rooms close to shopping and restaurants. And you can see modern creative work nearby at the Museu de Arte Contemporanea, just a 5-minute stroll away. A little over a 0.5 miles (1 kilometer) from the hotel is Rua das Flores, one of the city's oldest pedestrian-only areas. The street is a good place to wander on a sunny day when you can hear street performers busking for coins and enjoy the restaurants' outdoor seating.

If you're in the mood to shop, head to Shopping Curitiba. Recent renovations have made the mall a local favorite and it's an easy 15-minute jaunt from the Ambassador. Curitiba is the capital city of Parana, and this university town has a rapid bus system that's an international model for progressive urban planners. There's even a bus line designed exclusively for tourists. You pay once and the Linha Turismo runs by more than 20 different attractions. You can get off and reboard at 4 of the sights. The bus departs every 30 minutes from a point near the hotel. Ask at the front desk for details.

There's a pizza place 3 blocks from the hotel, but if you want to stay in after a day roaming around the city, you can step into the Ambassador restaurant and try one of their seafood plates. Enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the bar area, or if you're feeling energetic, you can swim a few laps in the indoor pool. Would you rather run? Use the treadmill in the fitness room, then reward yourself with time in the sauna. Use your laptop and log onto the complimentary WiFi access throughout.

Back in your apartment-style room, you have plenty of space to stretch out. You can order a snack from room service and pour yourself a nightcap from the minibar. Or, you can warm up your own snack in the microwave. Catch the news on cable TV or use the complimentary wireless Internet service to research sights. In the bathroom you'll find a shower and hair dryer. All rooms also have small kitchenettes.
